Merry Birthday to My Father

I want to wish my father a Very Merry Birthday.  Not only is he a great father but he is so good with Maksim which catapults him to Super Grandpa status.  My father gave me what I call strict love.  I didn't have much room for misbehaving growing up; getting in trouble with my father was worse than any corporal punishment out there (we had some tough Eastern European discipline).  I see myself becoming more and more like him everyday.  Besides sometimes looking into the mirror and seeing his face minus the beard; we have the same strut, intolerance for stupidity, good hearts (we are softies), and a drive to succeed to just name a few.  At the end of the day I would have to say my sister and I turned out pretty good thanks to him.  We are very lucky to have him as our Dad.

I thought it would be fun to share a few facts about my father, Perko:

  • Puma....yes there is a serious obsession with the brand (I love it too so I think it's in the genetics)
  • Clocks....another obsession, I once counted over 20 clocks in his bedroom, I wonder what the count it up to now?
  • Everything must be white.  White shoes, shirts, shorts, gadgets, etc. His wardrobe is at least consistent.
  • He eats a minimum of 3 apples a day (I guess I can say the same about eating strawberries)
  • If there is no steak then it does not qualify as a real meal
  • Some of his favorite sayings include: "Thanks a million" and "fart in same bucket"(don't ask, I can't even explain it)
  • And the best fact about my father is he is our Dad and he is very loved by my sister and I.
Love,
First Gen Fam
